Deadline has been canceled

We regret to inform you that the conference has been canceled due to insufficient number of participants. We would like to sincerely thank the speakers, participants, people interested in the event itself and all the companies and organizations that helped us promote the conference. We sincerely hope that we will have the opportunity to arrange a similar meeting in the future.

The Second Edition of Warsaw Startup Weekend Will Be Held on 18 – 20 November

November 8th, 2011
It’s an event that lasts for 54 hours, during which programmers, graphic designers, business and marketing specialists come together in one place to create Internet startups. On Friday evening each participant may present their idea and build a team that will work on it. Among them there will be 20 ideas selected in a vote, which will be developed during the weekend. From Saturday the teams will be supported by a large group of mentors. Deadline Schedule available!

During the conference we will touch Project Management issues according the PMI methodology. Agile practitioners and Project Managers with more unorthodox management methods will also provide their point of view. Attendees will have the opportunity to pick the approach fitting their everyday work.

The conference program will include:

  • pecha kucha session – a presentation of common problems with Project Management and joint search for solutions,
  • ways to shorten the duration of the project through the critical chain method,
  • tips how to save a project from failure,
  • innovative ways to help PMs in their work like Visual Management,
  • transforming the team managing large-scale projects with The Way Method
  • a way for IT specialists and business specialists to cooperate with eachother in an seamless way,
  • “Cooperation with the client in IT projects” discussion panel,
  • hands-on training in small groups durring the conference.

Deadline speakers

September 1st, 2011

We want the high quality of the lectures to be a signature mark of Deadline. Thus, we invited speakers with years of experience in working with teams of various sizes.

Mike Cottmeyer will be our keynote! He is a well-known, enterprise focused Agile coach, whose specialty is working in mixed-methodology environments.

During the conference, we will have a chance to see Paweł Brodziński, who currently manages a team of 150 engineers. Paweł will present Visual Managing – a simple tool that can significantly improve communication in the team. Marek Kowalczyk will also appear at the conference. He is an expert in shortening the duration of projects. Marek will explain Project Managers how to complete their project ahead of time using critical chain methods. Monika Konieczny will be Deadline’s guest, too. She is a Project Manager and and a PhD student at UAM. Monika is known for promoting unconventional and creative methods of motivating employees.
